 Police pepper spray protestors during an Occupy Seattle march on Tuesday. Among those hit were 84 year old woman(above) and a 17 year old girl. Please read the article below, and view the rest of the pictures.

A conservative journalist was attacked and brought to the ground during Occupy Wall Street protest on Thursday. She was also arrested while her friend and fellow reporter looked on helplessly. Watch the video above, and i recomend following the links below to read more.

Hump Day Random Facts

• The world's youngest mother gave birth to a son at the age of 5 years, 7 months, and 21 days. The world's oldest mother gave birth to a daughter at the ripe young age of 70.

• The sex of a baby is determined by the father's sperm. An egg only has X chromosomes (the female gene), but a sperm has both an X and a Y. So don't let them give you a hard time for always having girls!

• A new baby usually causes each of its parents to lose around 350-400 hours of sleep in their first year of sleep. (that's a whole nights sleep per week, per parent. Or 14-16 full days!) 

• Men are faster at changing babies!! They only take an average of 1 minute 36 seconds to go from dirty to clean, while its takes women an average of 2 minutes and 5 seconds. This should provide an ample excuse to make the dads handle 2am changings.

• The average baby goes through around 5,000 to 7,000 diapers from birth to potty-training. (and it takes around 500 years for a diaper to decompose)

Simply put, most people are sadly lacking in common decency. The community as a whole is no longer our source of identity. Instead, we are each a world unto themselves, barely registering those around us. While morals typically vary from culture to culture, there are some that are ubiquitous in nature. Dr. Kent M. The whole impartial story??

Some people seem to think that people are crazy when they say the media is biased and has an agenda. They scream conspiracy theory! They say we're not seeing the big picture. On Yahoo Answers you can read what real people are responding to the question of, "Is the Media Biased" here are just a few choice examples, but are by no means the only ones.

Open Your Mind To The Truth

Yesterday while reading through the forum for  Occupy San Francisco, I happened across a link for this video. I decided to have a look at it, figuring that if it was any good, I could share it on here. Before it was over, I had tears rolling down my cheeks. I was so moved by what I had seen, that i had to take a few minutes to compose myself. As soon as my husband came home, I sat him down and told him he had to watch it as well (adding that I had started crying, at which we both laughed) Again, I found myself overcome with emotion, even more severely the second time than the first. I spent some time then, trying to figure out what it was that was affecting me so much. The conclusion I reached was this; I love this country so much that my heart is just breaking for it. Watching as things seem to slowly be spiraling out of control, I often wonder if America is in her death throes, and if I will live to see the end of this nation I love so much. This video shows the stark reality of how far we have fallen, and it practically shouts as to where we might be headed. It's a very difficult thing to think about, the possible death of the only nation I've ever had the pleasure of calling home. It terrifies me, and shakes me through to my core. I know that things can't stay the way they are, and that something has to change, but watching this video reminded me of all the pain and suffering and violence and hatred that inevitably accompanies drastic changes. I pray that somehow, we can avoid the seemingly unavoidable, that we can still overcome the seemingly insurmountable

Don't Do Nothing

Hello, welcome to my blog, Don’t Do Nothing. I have intentionally used a double negative in naming this blog in order get you to stop and think about what you just read. I’m hoping by reading a sentence which you expect to be written a certain way(i.e.: without a double negative) that you will have a momentary pause as your brain resolves the conflict between what you expect to read and what your eyes are reading. My goal in doing this is to get you to consider what not doing nothing might actually imply. Another way of saying it is, it doesn’t matter what you do, just do it. Hopefully my clever ruse will work and I will have caused you to do something that is vitally important, yet often disregarded. I will have made you engage your brain and start to think.
