"I don't believe you. And more importantly, you shouldn't believe that the media in the US determines how people vote. And "liberals" don't determine what's reported in the media. Americans are truly gullible creatures, but we bought off on Bush's lies twice, Reagan's twice, each time despite the "liberally biased media." The fact is that they keep pointing out the flaws in the administration's words and actions. LBJ and Clinton both complained about the conservative media picking on them. That wasn't true either. The media reports what's out there."
If these people are to be believed, then we could safely assume that the media covers all aspects equally. In other words, we should see about a 50/50 split on pro-liberal and pro-conservative media stories and coverage. Is this the case? Do liberal scandals get the media attention that conservative scandals do? I haven't been able to find figures for this that are accurate, only personal opinions. I will however provide one example for you, and please decided for yourself if the mainstream media is giving you the whole story.(make sure to follow the links to get the real whole story)"No.
The Liberal Media myth is a propaganda tool employed by conservative radio hosts, columnists and pundits as a convenient excuse why after 20 years their ideology has failed to convince the public at large, and as a memetic inoculation of the public against the evidence that the media bias is in fact a conservative one."
Herman Cain has been accused of sexual harassment by 4 women recently. The original story was broken by Politico. At first it was just 2 women who couldn't speak because of a confidentiality agreement(which he wasn't a part of). Then came the latest woman, who did not report any of this at the time, who holds a press conference with her new lawyer, Gloria Alldred, and throws out entirely new accusations. There is more if you care to follow it, just search his name and pick an article or two. They all say much the same thing, and if you read enough you will start to notice that they mainly show Cain in a negative light, and take these allegations as truth. Now there is another side to this story This woman has had problems in the past at work and personal and legal issues. But the most telling piece of information about this woman is something you probably won't hear on any newscast today. Bill Kurtis made some interesting comments about Sharon Bialek and how she was a former CBS employee and providing some insight into her character.
